Trying to
evolve the manufacturing process of surfboards, the KEAHANA from Australia has
adapted its glassing process to use vacuum infusion, which is already widely
used in nautical and aeronautical industries, among other sectors.
In Brazil, it
has been used for 2 years. According to Flavio Carioca, chief executive of the
KEAHANA group, the company has been dedicated to implement this procedure in
the factories that produce licensed Stand Ups boards that have a more
laborious lamination.
"Our goal is
to make factories more competitive, helping them produce faster and stronger boards,
ideal weight, and precision industrial scale, but with all the features of the craft
process," he explains.
